The academic affairs of IRITAQ will be governed by the Academic Senate. The Senate shall be responsible for decisions with regards to course design, supervision and admissions to the programmes. Shaikh Abdulsalam Baqawi Vadakkekkadu, members of Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulema Central Mushavara, is the Chairman of the Academic Senate. Shaikh KM Bahauddeen Hudawi, an academician, author is the convenor. Shaikh Abdul Malik Hudawi, the young Islamic scholar is the Coordinator. Many other eminent scholars are members of the Senate.
